where's the beef?

I had the pleasure of sharing dinner with my childhood friend Danielle last night in Williamsburg. We were inseparable in 7th grade and had ping-ponged many emails before we decided on the right time and place.

After touring her new digs and strolling through the 'hood, we decided dinner would be somewhere neither of us had ever been. An adventure, deep in the heart of Brooklyn.

We stumbled into Wild Ginger (a vegan emporium) and sat in the back—despite any unease over not eating any animal byproductI have to admit that the food was delicious.

After an almost 17 year absence we were able to gracefully pick up where we left off (with a pinch of maturity and perspective) and had an ease in our conversation that I never doubted would still exist. It was lovely and easy and real.

It was one of many MANY more.

Below is a short Danielle shot on a plane and sent me this morning, genius that she is, she made me CRY.AT.WORK.
